Homeopathy is a gentle, effective holistic system of medicine which encourages and stimulates the body's natural ability to heal itself. Homeopathy has been in use for over 200 years and can be used for almost any problem whether physical, mental or emotional. It is suitable for everyone - babies, the elderly, pregnant women - and is completely safe.
If we reach a state of ill health or "dis-ease", in order to return to better health we need to make changes: to restore balance, repair damage and strengthen weakened systems so that we can achieve our full potential of genuine energetic healthy well being. Homeopathy can be wonderfully effective in this. It looks at the causes of disease as well as the symptoms and treats the whole person.
There are numerous examples in over 200 years of homeopathic texts showing the problems for which homeopathy can be helpful. There is also a great deal of more recent research proving the effectiveness of homeopathy (see Links page for some examples). This research, and my own experience using homeopathy over 20 years, has shown me that homeopathy can be helpful for many problems and conditions including the following:

It is of course important to remember that homeopathy does not simply address an individual problem or illness. It is not like conventional medicine. It is an energy medicine used to treat a person who has a distinctive, individual set of symptoms.
A first consultation can take up to 2 hours giving you time to tell me in detail about yourself and your problems. Follow up consultations take about 45 minutes and are used to discuss progress and any changes in symptoms. Remedies are then prescribed for you to take away with you. Acute problems usually respond quite quickly. Longstanding, chronic problems can take longer to show improvement.
“Let Like Be Cured by Like” Samuel Hahnemann
Samuel Hahnemann is regarded as the Father of Homeopathy. He was a doctor, a scientist and a linguist. His work developing homeopathy began in the late 1700s. He was unhappy about the way medicine was being practiced. He felt patients were not being cured and sometimes ended up worse off than before.
He came across information about Peruvian Bark curing malaria and he decided to experiment with this to try to understand why it worked. He did this by taking doses of Peruvian Bark himself, although he was perfectly healthy. To his surprise he developed all the signs and symptoms of malaria. When he stopped taking the Bark the symptoms went away. From this he proposed his idea that symptoms caused in healthy individuals taking large doses of a substance were the same symptoms that would be cured in a sick person by taking very small doses of the substance. This was Hahnemann’s Law of Similars. He experimented with many other substances and found that each produced its own set of symptoms or ‘remedy picture’.
Hahnemann began to treat patients using very small doses of remedies, chosen to match the patient’s symptoms and the patients responded well.

Diet is hugely important. There are many diseases which can be caused by poor diet and can therefore be prevented by a good diet. Heart disease, many cancers and Type II diabetes are examples of this. Diet is probably the single most powerful tool anyone has to help them improve their health and maintain vitality. I have a longstanding interest in diet and over the last 30 years I have tried out many different dietary approaches.
There is no single approach I would recommend for everyone. Just as in homeopathy we are all different – not everyone is cut out to be vegetarian, for instance – but attention to what we eat and providing our bodies with the best nutrition possible for each of us, is part of becoming healthier and staying healthy.
